Under general supervision, performs a variety of technical duties involved in conducting physical, chemical, biological and other research laboratory tests, experiments and determinations to obtain data for research purposes. Collects, analyzes and maintains accurate record of test results. Makes minor modifications to existing laboratory procedures and techniques to meet the needs of the particular equipment as required. Reviews laboratory methods manual, scientific journals, abstracts and other literature for information applicable to research experiments. #High school/GED and 1 year related experience OR Associate¿s degree.

Assists research team(s) with project implementation, budgets, grants & administrative procedures. Under direction, organizes field work, workshops, conferences and/or educational/research events; drafts materials, scientific papers and/or proposals for presentation, submission, and/or publication. Prepares and may teach program content to engage students, visitors, and/or community members in the research, instruction and service of the unit. May supervise students. Bachelor's OR high school diploma/GED and 3 years of related expereince.

Manages the activities of personnel involved in a large and/or complex research group or project. Provides work direction and technical assistance to designated personnel involved in a large and/or complex research group or project. Manages budgets, grants and administrative procedures. Monitors progress to ensure successful completion. Evaluates the meaningfulness of specific methods, planning methods and techniques, carries out procedures, and records results of an experiment. Performs work under general supervision of a principal investigator or research project manager. May co-author scientific papers for presentation and publication and coordinates writing, submission and administration of grants. May conduct complex experiments/research according to previously adopted and outlined procedures and techniques. Oversees, develops, and directs all aspects of multiple academic and/or research projects¿ progress, strategic planning, and direction. Develops and monitors multiple projects and their budgets and expenses. Performs research to benchmark the position of the University among peer institutions in specific areas; Expands and develops networks in field of study, plans for and manages day-to-day operations and personnel, and works to expand a programs capacity and funding base. Formulates, develops and executes meaningful measures for programs performance, program reporting, work plan, compliance, annual reports of the overall program. Reviews applications for research projects to ensure protocols. Identifies collaborative opportunities. May co-author scientific papers for presentation and publication and coordinates writing, submission and administration of grants. Applies knowledge of statistical procedures and psychometric methods and models (e.g., classical test theory, item response theory, diagnostic classification modeling) to develop, implement and/or oversee operational processes including analyses and quality assurance procedures. Supports test development teams from psychometric perspectives by applying knowledge of measurement concepts to inform the test development cycle. Conducts and/or guides analyses in statistical programming and psychometric software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, etc.), including complex or novel approaches. Leads and prepares documentation of operational results, technical reports and manuals.
Designs and conducts validity studies. Designs and implements detailed research projects and analyses for complex or novel psychometric analyses. Contributes to proposals for external funding initiatives. Presents to various external audiences. May supervise other psychometric staff. Ph.D. in educational measurement or related field and 2 years of related experience, including previous experience leading psychometric work on one or more projects in large scale assessment.

Responsible for review and implementation of cohesive psychometric processes and procedures across projects within a center. Serve as manager of the psychometric function within a center, including hiring, budgeting, and program management. Coordinates with management, program leadership, and clients. Provides advice on analyses of large-scale assessment data across multiple projects. Provides guidance on documentation of operational results, technical reports and manuals.
Provides guidance on the design of validity studies. Coordinates center research initiatives for proposals for external funding and as part of the organization’s research agenda. Represents organization's position on technical issues to clients, external boards/panels, professional associations, and other agencies. Supervises psychometric staff across the center’s projects. Ph.D. in educational measurement or related field and 6 years of related experience, including previous experience managing work of junior-level psychometricians on all aspects of psychometric work across multiple projects in large scale assessment.

Applies advanced knowledge of statistical procedures and multiple psychometric methods and models (e.g., classical test theory, item response theory, diagnostic classification modeling) to develop, implement and/or oversee operational processes including analyses and quality assurance procedures. Supports test development teams from psychometric perspectives by applying knowledge of measurement concepts and setting statistical and measurement guidelines within the test development cycle. Manages and supervises operational work across multiple projects. Oversees and leads analyses of large-scale assessment data across multiple projects. Oversees documentation of operational results, technical reports and manuals.

Works alongside fully degreed psychometricians assisting with basic statistical tasks such as cleaning data, running descriptive statistics, and conducting routine analyses. Supports scoring and reporting work by ensuring accuracy of operational and research output. May assist with research analyses and validity studies. Works with large datasets to conduct basic analyses in statistical programming and psychometric software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, etc.). Contributes to technical reports and manuals. May present to external audiences. Bachelor's degree in quantitative field.
