Rosalie Lanier Gray KU Staff Assistance Fund

With your help, the lives of staff are improved.

The chancellor created this fund in honor of her mother, Rosalie Lanier Gray. This fund provides emergency assistance for staff members who are struggling due to a natural or personal disaster that has caused financial hardship.

“Staff are the bedrock of our university and contribute to every aspect of our mission. But when emergencies happen, we all need someplace to turn for assistance. This fund was created to provide emergency assistance to KU staff members who are facing financial hardship due to natural or personal disasters.” —Chancellor Gray-Little

Emergencies can happen to any of us, and most often they occur when least expected.  Substantial loss of housing, food or clothing due to fire, flood or personal hardship can have devastating effects on an individual or family. The Rosalie Lanier Gray KU Staff Assistance Fund (“The Fund”) exists to provide emergency assistance for KU staff members who are struggling due to a natural or personal disaster that has caused financial hardship.

You can make a difference for KU staff members who find themselves in these types of situations by making a contribution to the Rosalie Lanier Gray KU Staff Assistance Fund. Contributions may be made through pre-tax deduction (KU or KUMC) via check or electronic funds transfer, or by donating online at kuendowment.org/StaffAssist.  To discuss additional giving options, please contact Lorie Worner, KU Endowment Association, at lworner@kuendowment.org or (785) 832-7340. Donations made to the Rosalie Lanier Gray KU Staff Assistance Fund are considered charitable contributions that are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

"The Rosalie Lanier Gray KU Staff Assistance Fund is an easy way to make a meaningful difference to friends and colleagues when they need it most." – Mike Rounds, Associate Vice Provost for Human Resource Management

KU staff experiencing an emergency can apply for assistance by completing the online application form.  Before applying, please ensure that all documents providing proof of need and emergency have been scanned and are ready to upload during completion of the application.  You may view lists of suggested and required documents and eligibility requirements in “The Fund” Guidelines.

Questions about the fund  may be forwarded to KU Human Resource Management at hrdept@ku.edu or 785-864-4946.
