Lecturer, Teaching Professor, Professor of the Practice Evaluation
The Performance Management System (MyTalent.ku.edu) will be used to store and track faculty evaluations. Chairs and Deans will still complete faculty evaluations for Lecturers, Teaching Professors, and Professors of the Practice using the options available in the Performance Management System as described in this document.
When the evaluation form is ready for you, as the supervisor, to complete, you will receive an email. [View Screenshot]
Complete Faculty Performance Evaluation
- Log in to MyTalent
- You can also access MyTalent by selecting the “MyTalent” link in the email [View Screenshot]
- Select the Performance button from the "Performance and Learning" section [View Screenshot]
- On the next page, you will see a list of evaluations needing completion. Select the Faculty Performance Evaluation link [View Screenshot]
- From the evaluation page, you have three options to evaluate the faculty member as listed in the “Instructions” section: [View Screenshot]
- Option 1: Evaluate the faculty member’s performance on one of the seven Benchmarks for Teaching Effectiveness[View Screenshot]
- For each benchmark, you can choose a rating from the dropdown menu and add comments in the “Manager’s Comments” field to evaluate the faculty member’s performance for that benchmark [View Screenshot]
- If the faculty member completed a self-evaluation in the system, you can view their rating and comments on the right. [View Screenshot]
- If they did not enter a rating or comments, it will say “no ratings from others”
- For assistance providing comments on the employee’s performance, use the optional “Writing Assistant” feature by selecting the Writing Assistant button[View Screenshot]
- To use the “Writing Assistant” feature, review the example descriptions and select the phrase that best describes your performance [View Screenshot]
- Once a phase is selected, the suggested sentence will appear in the “Preview Quote Below” section [View Screenshot]
- To place the suggested sentence in the “Manager’s Comments” field select the blue Place Quote button in the bottom-right [View Screenshot]
- Once a suggested sentence is placed in the “Manager’s Comments” field, the quote can be edited as needed.
- Option 2: Evaluate the faculty member’s performance in the overall performance section
- Scroll to the bottom of the form to locate the “Overall Faculty Performance” section [View Screenshot]
- You can choose a rating from the dropdown menu and add comments in the “Manager’s Comments” field to evaluate the faculty member’s overall performance [View Screenshot]
- If the faculty member completed a self-evaluation in the system, you can view their rating and comments on the right. [View Screenshot]
- If they did not enter a rating or comments it will say “no ratings from others”
- Option 3: Upload a completed performance evaluation form of your choosing (see instructions below and on form) [View Screenshot]
- Select the Supporting button in the top-right [View Screenshot]
- From the “Supporting” flyout window, select the plus sign to the right of “Attachments” [View Screenshot]
- Select Choose File to locate and upload the document from your computer [View Screenshot]
- Once a document is selected, select Upload in the bottom-right [View Screenshot]
- Then select OK [View Screenshot]

- Once you have provided the evaluative feedback, select the blue Continue to Send to Faculty Member for Acknowledgement button in the bottom-right [View Screenshot]
- From there you will land on a confirmation page, where you will again select the blue Continue to Send to Faculty Member for Acknowledgement buttonin the bottom-right to complete sending the form [View Screenshot]
