Support During Traumatic Events
Many of us are ill-prepared to handle traumatic events when they occur in the workplace. Human Resource Management understands that managers and individuals experiencing traumatic events such as death, assault, grief, loss, and other crisis situations may need assistance during such trying times.
Resources for Managers
Managers who need assistance with handling a traumatic event in the workplace can contact HRM by email at hrdept@ku.edu or by phone at 785-864-4946.
Resources for Employees
Employees seeking information about community providers of grief management or crisis intervention support services can utilize the state's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) ». The EAP is a voluntary, confidential, free, service that provides employees and their immediate family members with professional counseling and referral services.
For additional information about the EAP program, please visit Employee Assistance Program (EAP) » or call 1-888-275-1205 (option 1).
