In collaboration with other researchers, participates as skilled contributor and/or lead researcher on one or more research projects, serving as an expert in a specialized area. Coordinates administrative, financial, personnel and planning aspects of a project. May serve as co-PI or as a PI. Designs or serves as a leader in the design of research or theoretical models, instrumentation, equipment, creation of algorithms and designs, study protocols, system development or other data collecting and gathering methodologies. Investigates, modifies, and applies new procedures, techniques or applications of research methods. Conducts research in an area of expertise, writing results for inclusion in broader research projects. Oversees development of data collection. Monitors integrity of data collection and use of protocols and procedures. May review and critique reports and analysis of other researchers and conducts ongoing, periodic and final analysis of data. Writes and/or collaborates with other researchers on manuscripts, abstracts and other publications of research findings. May perform research related activates in a laboratory setting. May supervise students and/or staff. #A doctorate or highest professional degree (including international equivalents) in field/area of study AND 5 years of additional postdoc experience in the field/area of research.

Oversees planning and implementation of content development including blueprint, test design, and item writing processes for a complex project (e.g., multiple content areas or multiple projects). Monitors implementation progress and goal attainment to ensure that deliverables are met. Leads test design on assessment products. Collaborates on routine program development and implementation with project management, including program directors, test operations staff, and psychometricians. Manages processes so that assessment and instructional products meet professional standards. Collaborates with other team leaders on issues related to test and/or curriculum development. Oversees curriculum and assessment team work in item writing and reviews. Supervises staff and interacts with clients. Collaborates with curriculum and assessment project directors in full assessment program designs and validity studies. Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of large-scale assessment development experience or Master’s degree and 2 years of large-scale assessment development experience.

Operates in a specialized research and/or laboratory setting with considerable latitude. May act as liaison with other departments. Develops designs and conducts one or more large research efforts in line with a research plan; reviews progress and evaluates results. Prepares, studies, and conserves scientific research materials. Formulates research methods and suggests improvements for quality and may serve as part of a design team or may serve in a leadership role. May serve as co-PI or PI. Identifies problems, recommends and implements solutions. Trains other researchers as needed. Consults with others to refine or adapt methodologies to fit research requirements. Functions as an integral member of ACU leadership team. Provide preventative, clinical, and surgical care to research animals utilized by KU-L investigators. Prepare and maintain records detailing diagnostic decisions ensuring compliance with applicable Federal, state, and local regulations. Direct and maintain a health surveillance program to include coordination of requests for importation of non-vendor source animals. Consult with investigators and staff regarding research animal needs and provide instruction and assistance in the special care and treatment of animals. Assist the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and ACU Director in maintaining compliance with all applicable Federal, state, and university laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines related to animal care and use. #Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA accredited institution. Current veterinary license in a least one state. Must obtain Kansas veterinary license within 12 months of appointment.

Performs psychometric tasks, such as item and test analysis, model calibrations, equating and scaling, differential item functioning, and standard setting. Uses various psychometric models (e.g., classical test theory, item response theory, diagnostic classification modeling) to analyze large-scale assessment data. Supports test development teams from psychometric perspectives by providing statistical analyses of content and/or feedback. Works with large datasets to conduct analyses in statistical programming and psychometric software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, etc.). Prepares documentation of operational results, technical reports and manuals.
Conducts validity studies with guidance. Proposes detailed research projects and analyses for psychometric approaches. May contribute to portions of proposals for external funding. Presents to external audiences. May supervise other psychometric staff. Ph.D. in educational measurement or related field.

Provides and develops copy and/or production editing for scientific, technical, and educational publications, reports, and/or grant proposals. Develops content based on style requirements, and provides writing support. Highlights research areas, features and benefits by providing content for brochures, feature articles, training programs and websites. May help public relations team to prepare papers or presentations for conferences or scientific journals. May coordinate production of publications with outside printers. #Bachelor¿s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. Minimum of one year editing experience in a research related field of study.

Develops, improves and implements a variety of laboratory techniques and performs complex laboratory procedures to contribute to the timely completion and success of sponsored research projects. Makes statistical calculations, analyzes data and prepares reports summarizing results. Provides principle investigator with information to evaluate direction of research. Applies standard quality control procedures to assure accuracy of test results and makes recommendations to principal investigator as requested. Designs and/or fabricates specialized equipment as needed. Trains and oversees research technicians and students participating in research in the laboratory. #High school/GED and 2 years related experience OR Associate¿s degree and 1 year related experience OR Bachelor¿s degree in field related to discipline.

Applies advanced knowledge of statistical procedures and multiple psychometric methods and models (e.g., classical test theory, item response theory, diagnostic classification modeling) to develop, implement and/or oversee operational processes including analyses and quality assurance procedures. Supports test development teams from psychometric perspectives by applying knowledge of measurement concepts and setting statistical and measurement guidelines within the test development cycle. Manages and supervises operational work across multiple projects. Oversees and leads analyses of large-scale assessment data across multiple projects. Oversees documentation of operational results, technical reports and manuals.
Designs, conducts and oversees validity studies. Proposes and leads research designs both for proposals for external funding initiatives and as part of the organization’s research agenda. Presents to various external audiences. May supervise psychometric staff on multiple projects. Ph.D. in educational measurement or related field and 4 years of related experience, including previous experience leading all aspects of psychometric work on multiple projects in large scale assessment.

Manages the activities of personnel involved in a large and/or complex research group or project. Provides work direction and technical assistance to designated personnel involved in a large and/or complex research group or project. Manages budgets, grants and administrative procedures. Monitors progress to ensure successful completion. Evaluates the meaningfulness of specific methods, planning methods and techniques, carries out procedures, and records results of an experiment. Performs work under general supervision of a principal investigator or research project manager.
