Serves as the project manager on civil engineering projects or as civilengineering support. Work may include, feasibility studies, planning,design, estimating, construction administration managing andcoordinating outside engineering consultants such that thestandards, needs, and requirements of the University are incompliance with both code requirements and design aesthetics.Works with all parties to develop a construction set of plans forprojects, monitors progress and assures that project is completed onschedule. Assists with the technical engineering side of the biddingand award process for projects. Bachelor¿s degree in an Engineering field. Eligible to be licensed as a civil engineer in the State of Kansas. Five years of experience in design and construction industry.

Serves as the project manager on architectural projects or asarchitectural support on engineering projects. Work may includefeasibility studies, planning, design, estimating, constructionadministration and coordinating outside Architectural consultantssuch that the standards, needs, and requirements of the Universityare in compliance with both code requirements and designaesthetics. Prepares, reviews and provides compliance codefootprints and specifications for Capital projects, assuring that allspecifications, codes, policies and design standards are met.Provides ADA code requirements for projects. Architectural projectmanagers in the Compliance Group assist with the design ofemergency evacuation plans and assist with fire alarm testing andinspections. Bachelor¿s degree in Architecture or related field. Licensed architect in the state of Kansas. Five years of experience in thedesign and construction industry.

Serves as the primary liaison between Marketing Communications and university units. Leads the day-to-day account management, marketing strategy, campaign planning, and business development for their respective campus clients. Bachelor¿s degree in journalism, advertising, communications, business, marketing, or relevant field, plus minimum of 3 years of related experience.

Serves as the central office administrative resource or liaison between the PI, the central office, and the university, state, and/or granting agency personnel for pre and/or post award activities. Provide assistance to PIs for day-to-day administration of sponsored awards, including coordination and monitoring of the daily operations and processing (e.g. budget preparation, proposal submission, award set-up, budget adjustment, expenditure approval, etc.) of transactions for compliance to sponsor, federal, state, and university guidelines. May develop and prepare budgets and work with agencies to clarify project budgets and any re-budgeting requirements. May monitor the financial management of sponsored awards (e.g., budget preparation, budget adjustments, expenditures, etc.) for all project budgets, and related matching fund/cost share information, for accurate and compliance management and reporting. Interprets sponsor guidelines. May research grant opportunities for the purpose of developing additional funding resources. Participates in research administration and other training to enhance expertise and/or service to campus. May coordinate reporting to sponsoring agencies. May be delegated by PI to sign and approve transactions. May analyze financial reports and track budget to actual expenditures and notify Principal Investigators of balance information. May lead a team of grant specialists and/or supervise student employees. Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related experience OR High School GED/Diploma with four years of related experience.

Serves as subject matter expert for the functionality of assigned management system modules.  Analyzes business processes to identify management systems applications and requirements.  Documents and communicates programming requirements and/or system configuration requirements.  Sets up and maintains system configuration and/or security access profiles.  Coordinates application modules and upgrades with technical resources. Develops test scripts and tests system functionality - identifies processing issues, evaluates for cause, recommends solutions in a timely and accurate manner to allow for continuous and uninterrupted processing of information in the management system.  Makes recommendations to approve migrations and fixes to the management system as needed.  Creates and modifies queries and reports for users as requested.  Continuous monitoring of management system processes to ensure successful completion of transactions in the system.  Provides ongoing maintenance and support of management system.  Investigates new system functionality for improvements in user experience. Serves as project manager for landscape architecture and siteprojects, managing and coordinating the team, preparing budgets,completing construction documents and specifications, andoverseeing construction management in accordance with University,state, and code requirements. Provides landscape architecturesupport on small and large capital projects in accordance with theUniversity master plan. Prepares budgets for project, coordinatesproject team, completes construction documents and assures thatspecifications meet University, state and code requirements. Visitsproject site to review progress and inspect construction. Identifiesfield problems, reviews and completes necessary design changesand monitors progress of complete project. Assists with planninginitiatives surrounding Campus Master Plan, Landscape Master Plan,Tree Campus USA, Wayfinding initiatives, and siting options forproposed buildings and site improvements. Coordinates landscaperelated donations and maintains the Gifts & Memorials Map for theUniversity. Bachelor¿s degree in Landscape Architecture. Eligible to be licensed as a landscape architect in the State of Kansas. Five years of related experience.

Serves as in-house expert on congressional issues and processes. Establishes and maintains relationships with key congressional lawmakers, staff and federal agency personnel. Educates campus-based researchers about federal grant opportunities and broader initiatives. Establishes and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of research expertise at KU. Increases the visibility of KU at the federal level by identifying opportunities for campus researchers to testify before Congress, serve as federal agency advisors or as panel members. Advises the Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs and Vice Chancellor for Research on federal government related matters and research opportunities. May supervise staff. Based in Washington, DC. Bachelor¿s degree and 10 years of experience working in a federal or state government senior staff position.

Serves as a teacher and coach for KU students as part of their laboratory work for their academic curriculum. Advises students during theatrical rehearsals. Serves as accompanist or musical director for musicals, operas, concerts and/or to support classes and student auditions. Recruits, coaches and trains accompanists. May compose music as needed for special projects. May supervise special musical tours to promote the KU units, serving as a student recruiting tool. Formal and/or specific study in piano sufficient to demonstrate technical and artistic skills in music theory, composition, sight reading, arranging and/or improvisation. Previous professional experience as an accompanist.

Serves as a subject matter expert able to engineer and independently design and direct studies both quantitative and qualitative across a spectrum of areas (e.g., enrollment, financial reporting, salary studies, etc.) Initiates new tools or analysis based upon user or leader description of workflow. Utilizes multiple technology applications to manage and/or conduct analytical projects from inception to completion, including presentation of results. Provides staff support and/or serves as member on university committees. Serves as content expert in the development and analysis of metrics to benchmark KU to other AAU and Big 12 universities. Design and conduct analyses to assess efficacy of policies, procedures, and current and planned university initiatives. Mentors staff to develop mission critical expertise and professional growth. Provides leadership for the development and implementation of business intelligence analytics and predictive analytics for university administration. Assist with design and implementation of program and departmental assessments as requested by university administrators. Consults with administrators to assess their data needs. Selects appropriate tools to deliver information and analyses to administrators for decision-making. Serves as a member of the Senior IT Leadership Team and directly reports to the CIO. This position is responsible for providing leadership, direction, mentoring, customer relations and project management of multiple KU IT departments. The Director is given considerable latitude and independence to organize and manage projects, resources (fiscal and personnel), and activities in a robust and evolving technical environment. Bachelor’s degree and seven years of relevant experience and five years in a supervisory and/or progressively responsible management role.
