Job Description and Minimum Qualifications:
Serves as the central office administrative resource or liaison between the PI, the central office, and the university, state, and/or granting agency personnel for pre and/or post award activities. Provide assistance to PIs for day-to-day administration of sponsored awards, including coordination and monitoring of the daily operations and processing (e.g. budget preparation, proposal submission, award set-up, budget adjustment, expenditure approval, etc.) of transactions for compliance to sponsor, federal, state, and university guidelines. May develop and prepare budgets and work with agencies to clarify project budgets and any re-budgeting requirements. May monitor the financial management of sponsored awards (e.g., budget preparation, budget adjustments, expenditures, etc.) for all project budgets, and related matching fund/cost share information, for accurate and compliance management and reporting. Interprets sponsor guidelines. May research grant opportunities for the purpose of developing additional funding resources. Participates in research administration and other training to enhance expertise and/or service to campus. May coordinate reporting to sponsoring agencies. May be delegated by PI to sign and approve transactions. May analyze financial reports and track budget to actual expenditures and notify Principal Investigators of balance information. May lead a team of grant specialists and/or supervise student employees. Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related experience OR High School GED/Diploma with four years of related experience.
