Serves in an administrative capacity to assist with the direction of operations of a research, public service or academic program combined with academic related program respondibilies such as advising, course scheduling, instructional coordinator, curriculum development, etc. as well as engaging in service both within and outside the university, maintaining professional credentials, and/or other duties that the appointing dean determines are consistent with this definition. Should have professional teaching and service responsibilities that are significantly heavier than those of tenured and tenure-track faculty. Research responsibilities are not included in the expectations for professors of the practice. Adheres to the faculty code of rights, responsibilities and conduct. Should hold the professional degree and licensing/certification as well as significant experience and a distinguished record of achievement in her or his field outside of the academy. Fixed term of up to 3 years, subsequent limited term appointment of no more than 5 years may be offered.

Sets up, operates, maintains and repairs equipment used to enhance events such as microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting and sound mixing equipment.  May record meetings and presentations with video cameras, operate spotlights, adjust sound equipment, coordinate graphics used in displays and provide technical support for teleconferences, webinars and distance learning.  May also edit, copy and store recordings, track inventory of equipment (including any check out or loan programs) and order supplies.  High School Diploma/GED with two years of experience in the management of film, video, and or editing equipment; or an Associate¿s degree in Audio Visual Technology, Digital Media, Film, Music or a related field and one year experience in production. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Supervises and directs the work of assigned shop personnel in a variety of trades required for the maintenance, repair, construction, renovation, and operation of University facilities and equipment. Plans, inspects and assigns work for maintenance, repair, construction, renovation and/or operation of University facilities and equipment. Provide daily assistance and guidance to personnel on assignments. High School Diploma or GED equivalency. Five years of experience in maintenance work. Associate’s degree or vocational school certification may be substituted for the required maintenance experience. Three years of experience as a supervisor or lead worker

Supervises curriculum and/or assessment teams across subject areas and projects. Leads assessment system and individual test designs for multiple projects. Collaborates with other senior staff on high-level design, oversight, and decision-making for assessment programs including validity studies. Leads design of curriculum, instruction, and professional learning initiatives across projects. Collaborates with other senior staff on oversight and decision-making for programs including research and evaluation. Ensures that assessment and instructional products meet professional standards and that contract deliverables are met. Master’s degree and 7 years of large-scale assessment development experience or doctoral degree and 5 years of large-scale assessment development experience, including one year of management of more junior curriculum and/or assessment developers.

Supervises editorial and production tasks of proofreading, copyediting, index editing and art evaluation. Coordinates production schedule. Secures manufacturing and typesetting contracts for book production. Reviews compositor and printer proofs at various stages of production. Coordinates purchasing and business processes to support book production process. Oversee freelance copy editors, proof readers and indexers. Offers feedback, advice and instructions to authors. Maintains and updates electronic files for published books. Bachelor¿s degree. Minimum two years of related experience required.

Supervises medical laboratory and its staff. Reviews lab results and audits for controls and quality control data. Performs microbiology, chemistry, and hematology procedures, as well as phlebotomy and specimen processing. Seeks out new methodologies, technology and instrumentation. Maintains laboratory information system.Bachelor¿s degree in Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or related field from an accredited university or bachelor¿s in a related field and completion of an approved Medical Technologist program. Three years related professional experience. Six months experience in supervising staff. American Society Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent registration. Current CPR certification.
