Directs the engineering aspects of planning, design, and construction of all capital projects and physical improvements undertaken by the university, ensuring that they meet state and federal regulations and procedures and are effectively managed from concept through planning, design, bidding, construction, and up to occupancy. Oversees the design and installation of all engineered systems for capital projects and physical improvements, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and audio/visual systems as well as utility infrastructure. Provides veterinary care and fulfills veterinarian responsibilities for the animal care program. Responsible for the well-being of all animals. Oversees research protocols involving animals and procedures used. Oversees facility standards for compliance to regulations affecting animal research. Writes, reviews, and updates OLAC veterinary and compliance policies and guidelines, as required. Provides training and instruction to personnel on humane methods of animal maintenance and experimentation. Serves on appropriate university committees related to research activities and the animal program. DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA Council on Education accredited veterinary college or school and be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Kansas.

Collects and analyzes data requirements, and develops complex logical and physical database designs and data models in support of enterprise information management. Works with data architecture, applications and systems teams to ensure database designs and data models support the integration of data/information flow across systems and platforms. Assists with the development and enforcement of methodologies and standards for data modeling. Works in all phases of database design and data modeling activities. May lead and coach less experienced data modelers in the identification and resolution of information flow, content issues and the translation of business requirements into logical data models. Under general direction works in data warehouse environment which includes data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation. Responsible for developing data warehousing blueprint, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems. Translates business needs into long-term architecture solutions for client. Defines, designs and builds dimensional database schemas. Evaluates reusability of current data for separate analyses. Conducts data sheering to rid the system of old, unused or duplicate data. As a senior level executive with University-wide authority, manages and supervises all legal advice, counsel and representation provided to the Chancellor and other University administrators, faculty, and staff for the multiple KU campuses, including the Lawrence campus, the Edwards Campus in Johnson County, the Law Enforcement Training Center in Hutchinson, and the Medical Center campuses in Kansas City, Wichita, Johnson County and Salina. Manages and directs the operations of all attorneys in the Office of the General Counsel, the University tax advisor, the Director of the Export Compliance Program and the support staff in the GC offices located on the two primary campuses. Represents the University in Board of Regents and State of Kansas addressing legal topics, consults and collaborates with counsel for the Board of Regents, the Attorney General of Kansas, general counsel at other Regents universities and counsel for other state agencies to provide consistency in the interpretation of law and the development and application of policy. JD from an ABA accredited school, membership in Kansas bar, or admission to membership within 12 months of hire, and at least 10 years of experience as an attorney. Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience of other attorneys in a legal office.

Independently coordinates unit program or components of larger programs with direction from supervisor, including administrative responsibilities. Designs and develops materials content, programs and/or activities to meet the needs of the Kansas fire service. Designs and conducts program assessments, analyzes results, and modifies programs based on results. May participate in grant projects. Manage the Safety & Security Operations Unit. Direct and supervise the Security Officers and student security officers in the performance of their duties for the University of Kansas. Must be prepared to manage security for Kansas Athletics, Spencer Museum of Art, and academic buildings on the Lawrence and Edward¿s campuses including monitoring CCTV systems. Perform some clerical and administrative work to support the unit as a whole.| High school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of three years of experience as a security officer including supervisory experience.
