Job Description and Minimum Qualifications:

Independently coordinates unit program or components of larger programs with direction from supervisor, including administrative responsibilities. Designs and develops materials content, programs and/or activities to meet the needs of the Kansas fire service. Designs and conducts program assessments, analyzes results, and modifies programs based on results. May participate in grant projects. Deliver training props to class locations, coordinate set up of props, and assume the role of lead instructor/coordinator for the training. Teach authorized training courses and coordinate dissemination of instructional materials. May include supervision of other instructors or student employees. Complete and submit course documentation as directed by Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute policies. High school diploma plus seven years¿ experience conducting/providing fire service training or a bachelor¿s degree plus three years¿ experience conducting/providing fire service training. National Certification as a Fire Service Instructor I; National Certification as a Fire Fighter; Kansas Class A Commercial Driver¿s License with a Hazardous Materials Endorsement or the ability to obtain license within four months of employment; Demonstrated technical expertise in the position¿s area of responsibility through national certifications and/or professional experience.
