Provides veterinary care and fulfills veterinarian responsibilities for the animal care program. Responsible for the well-being of all animals. Oversees research protocols involving animals and procedures used. Oversees facility standards for compliance to regulations affecting animal research. Writes, reviews, and updates OLAC veterinary and compliance policies and guidelines, as required. Provides training and instruction to personnel on humane methods of animal maintenance and experimentation. Serves on appropriate university committees related to research activities and the animal program. DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA Council on Education accredited veterinary college or school and be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Kansas.
