Assists research team(s) with project implementation, budgets, grants & administrative procedures. Under direction, organizes field work, workshops, conferences and/or educational/research events; drafts materials, scientific papers and/or proposals for presentation, submission, and/or publication. Prepares and may teach program content to engage students, visitors, and/or community members in the research, instruction and service of the unit. May supervise students. In collaboration with other researchers, participates as skilled contributor and/or lead researcher on one or more research projects, serving as an expert in a specialized area. Coordinates administrative, financial, personnel and planning aspects of a project. May serve as co-PI or as a PI. Designs or serves as a leader in the design of research or theoretical models, instrumentation, equipment, creation of algorithms and designs, study protocols, system development or other data collecting and gathering methodologies. Investigates, modifies, and applies new procedures, techniques or applications of research methods. Conducts research in an area of expertise, writing results for inclusion in broader research projects. Oversees development of data collection. Monitors integrity of data collection and use of protocols and procedures. May review and critique reports and analysis of other researchers and conducts ongoing, periodic and final analysis of data. Applies advanced knowledge of statistical procedures and multiple psychometric methods and models (e.g., classical test theory, item response theory, diagnostic classification modeling) to develop, implement and/or oversee operational processes including analyses and quality assurance procedures. Supports test development teams from psychometric perspectives by applying knowledge of measurement concepts and setting statistical and measurement guidelines within the test development cycle. Manages and supervises operational work across multiple projects. Oversees and leads analyses of large-scale assessment data across multiple projects. Oversees documentation of operational results, technical reports and manuals.
Designs, conducts and oversees validity studies. Proposes and leads research designs both for proposals for external funding initiatives and as part of the organization’s research agenda. Presents to various external audiences. May supervise psychometric staff on multiple projects. Ph.D. in educational measurement or related field and 4 years of related experience, including previous experience leading all aspects of psychometric work on multiple projects in large scale assessment.

Under general supervision, performs a variety of technical duties involved in conducting physical, chemical, biological and other research laboratory tests, experiments and determinations to obtain data for research purposes. Collects, analyzes and maintains accurate record of test results. Makes minor modifications to existing laboratory procedures and techniques to meet the needs of the particular equipment as required. Reviews laboratory methods manual, scientific journals, abstracts and other literature for information applicable to research experiments. #High school/GED and 1 year related experience OR Associate¿s degree.

Provides senior-level technical and/or research related support for performing a broad range of complex laboratory and/or research related tasks. Acts as a specialist on research methods and/or equipment functions. Performs a variety of research protocols requiring a high degree of proficiency. Troubleshoots problems and recommends solutions. Evaluates experiment or study results using complex statistical and multivariate analysis. Participates in the development of a research plan. Oversees planning and implementation of content development including blueprint, test design, and item writing processes for a complex project (e.g., multiple content areas or multiple projects). Monitors implementation progress and goal attainment to ensure that deliverables are met. Leads test design on assessment products. Collaborates on routine program development and implementation with project management, including program directors, test operations staff, and psychometricians. Manages processes so that assessment and instructional products meet professional standards. Collaborates with other team leaders on issues related to test and/or curriculum development. Oversees curriculum and assessment team work in item writing and reviews. Supervises staff and interacts with clients. Collaborates with curriculum and assessment project directors in full assessment program designs and validity studies. Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of large-scale assessment development experience or Master’s degree and 2 years of large-scale assessment development experience.

Under the supervision and mentorship of a faculty member, senior researcher or a research team leader, advances his/her training in an individualized research program area, teaching or other aspects of academic work or combination thereof. May develop, design and conduct research efforts in line with a research plan; reviews progress and evaluates results. May formulate research methods and suggests improvements for quality and may serve as part of a design team. On specific occasions, may serve as co-PI. Identifies problems, recommends and implements solutions. Consults with others to refine or adapt methodologies to fit research requirements. Coordinates data collection and screening to verify data. Implements research methodology, conducts data analysis, and interprets results. May perform research related activates in a laboratory setting. May co-author or author publications. Position is limited term with a typical duration of 1-5 years. Individuals who have served as a postdoctoral fellow/researcher for up to five years in the same area of research are not eligible.

Functions as an integral member of ACU leadership team. Has responsibility for managing ACU daily operations. Supervises husbandry personnel within an assigned area. Establishes, implements, and enforces work guidelines for all husbandry employees. Develops, implements, and manages animal resource operational needs in accordance with federal and accrediting agency guidelines. Establishes, implements, and oversees a preventive maintenance program for existing equipment and develops specifications for purchase of new equipment to fit departmental husbandry needs. Oversees the development of quality control and training programs for operation of the facility and animal husbandry needs. #Bachelor¿s degree with three years laboratory animal science experience OR High School diploma or GED equivalency and seven years laboratory animal science experience. AALAS certification at LATG level.

Works alongside fully degreed psychometricians conducting complex statistical tasks such as cleaning data, running descriptive statistics and analyses. Supports and leads scoring and reporting processes by ensuring accuracy of operational and research output. Assists with research and validity studies by analyzing data and writing technical reports. Works with large datasets to conduct analyses in statistical programming and psychometric software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, etc.). Contributes to technical reports and manuals. May present to external audiences. May supervise psychometrician assistants. Master’s degree in quantitative field or a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of full-time related experience in large-scale assessment.
