RETAINWORKS Provides Assistance to Employees Affected by Injury or Illness

RETAINWORKS is a free, federally-funded research study that assists state employees whose lives have recently been disrupted by an injury, a medical diagnosis or prolonged COVID symptoms within the previous 12 weeks. The 12-week period is based on the date of injury, onset of symptoms, worsening symptoms or diagnosis. If you meet this criteria, you may be able to receive support and assistance to help you keep working or return to work and achieve full productivity.

Eligible participants chosen for the treatment group will receive:

  • Care from medical professionals skilled in stay-at-work and return-to-work best practices
  • Training, employment services and assistance with job modifications or accommodations
  • Support services necessary to either keep your job or change jobs
  • Monetary incentives for taking part in some study activities
  • A Nurse Navigator to support recovery and care coordination

The goals of the RETAINWORKS program include:

  • Reducing missed time at work
  • Increasing the likelihood of remaining employed
  • Improving overall quality of life and health outcomes

To be pre-screened for eligibility, interested employees can fill out a brief self-referral form. Please note that participation is open to all eligible state employees, including those receiving benefits under worker’s compensation.
