Ascertains the University¿s compliance with building / fire / lifesafety codes and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations.Reviews construction documents for compliance, conductsconstruction / fire inspections, oversees life safety system testing,and educates University entities on compliance related issues.Produces an annual Plan of Correction for all fire and life safetycitations. Works with design & construction managers to ensureprojects comply with applicable codes. Manages the University FireMarshal Authority and on behalf of the Office of State Fire Marshal,performs fire and life safety inspections, annual fire inspections, andassociated activities required as a commissioned fire inspector.Manages the development, design, and testing standards for firealarm systems and mass notification systems. Bachelor¿s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field. Eligible to be licensed as an architect or engineer in the State of Kansas. Fire Inspector I certification or ability to obtain certification within the first six months ofemployment. Five years of experience in professional or governmental architectural or engineering environment.
