Job Description and Minimum Qualifications:

Operates recording, digital audio, media, amplification machines and equipment to be used in a variety of settings. Records speech, music, and other sounds on recording media, using recording equipment. Edits and mix audio and/or sounds for premium quality by separating instruments, vocals, and other sounds for post-production. During recordings, listens to audio from both a musical and technical perspective to adjust equipment, recording levels and even the performance of the artist in such a way that the recorded product sounds perfect. Ensures equipment is working correctly and properly during set-up and testing sessions. Tear down equipment after events. Synchronize and equalize prerecorded dialogue, music, and sound effects with visual action if needed using control consoles. Creates musical instrument digital interface programs for music projects, etc. Inventories and maintains equipment. Supervises students and/or staff High School diploma or GED equivalency with four years of experience in sound engineering technology. Associates degree in sound design or related field of study with a certificate in sound design, or a Bachelor¿s degree in sound design or related field of study. Minimum of two years of experience in mixing, digital editing, and use of recording machines and related devices. One year of supervisory experience.
