Oversees the operations of the Facilities Service Department to meet the needs of the University mission, goals and objectives. Provides planning, programming and development of projects. Develops and oversees the budget, participates in personnel matters, coordinates projects within department and with external clients, and provides project oversight. Ensures compliance with campus master plan and applicable standards, policies, procedures, codes, and bylaws. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Seven years of relevant experience, including management experience.

Directs the Department of Environment, Health & Safety and its respective staff members and student employees, carrying out the operational policies of the University in conjunction with an expanding focus upon issues which affect the health and safety of faculty, staff, and students and the surrounding community, including the environmental impact of programs upon each constituent group. Administers the campus¿ comprehensive environment, health & safety program as responsibilities and authority have been or are assigned.Bachelor¿s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Public Safety Management, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Health Physics or similar EHS related field and ten (10) years of professional experience in environmental health and safety. Conditions of Employment: Successfully complete a baseline medical evaluation/examination within 90 days of initial employment; successfully complete OSHA/EPA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training within 180 days of initial employment; Successfully complete a security risk assessment conducted by the U.S. Attorney General/FBI in accordance with CDC/USDA Select Agent Regulations within 180 days of initial employment.

Develops and implements project execution plans, materialprocurement and schedules for remodeling and renovation projects.Collaborates with clients to develop and implement project plansand schedules for general construction to include the followingtrades: carpentry, painting, electrical, mechanical, plumbing,heating, ventilation, air conditioning, concrete, and fire protection.Ensures that all work is done in compliance with State and Federalrequirements. High School diploma or GED equivalency. Five years ofexperience in construction estimating, planning, scheduling, and/or supervising construction and renovation projects. Associate¿s degree orvocational school certification may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

Provides oversight and performs construction operationsmanagement for DCM. Reviews construction blueprints and initiatespre¿construction meetings with all constituents. Schedules andmaintains project timelines to meet specified goals of eachindividual project. Reviews, coordinates and manages budgets ofeach project. Coordinates and/or schedules suspension of utilitiesto affected building(s). Assists with relocation of affected buildingoccupants as needed during project duration. Schedules site andcode inspections as needed meeting with specified University, stateand federal requirements. Prepares paperwork to include changeorders, certificates of completion, etc. Bachelor¿s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field with ten years related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education andexperience.

Plan, organize, and provide administrative direction for comprehensive police, security, emergency communications, and emergency management services. Work under the guidance and direction of the Vice Provost of Administration and Finance. Provide expert professional assistance to University administrators. Foster cooperative working relationships with other community groups, including intergovernmental, regulatory, outside agencies, University departments, and student groups. Maintain a safe campus environment for students and faculty.Bachelor¿s degree in Police Science, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field and ten years of commissioned law enforcement work with a minimum of five years of supervisory experience. Certified or ability to be certified as a law enforcement officer by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.All required police and National Incident Management System (NIMS) training up-to-date. No convictions of or diversions from any felony crimes, or any misdemeanor or felony crimes of domestic violence.Special Qualifications: U.S. citizen; 21 years of age; valid driver¿s license; drug screen for new hires (certified positions); and annual fire arms qualification (certified positions).

Coordinates activities that involve the use of the Autodesk suite ofproducts for various departments involved with constructionprojects at the University in order to improve planning and designefficiency in the production of project construction plans. Develops,designs and implements CAD standards and templates. Dutiesinclude transfer of drawings and documents from Project Managers,outside contractors and others to CAD system for final creation ofdesign drawings and maps. Performs installation, training andupgrading of Autodesk related software. Manages large formatplotter leases and material procurement. Manages DCM¿sequipment inventory. Supervises student employees who fieldverifyroom dimensions and configuration. Prepares maps anddrawings as requested. Assists in the development andimplementation of GIS at KU. Technical training equivalent to associate/technical degree or certification from Autodesk or other CAD Software programs. Five years of relevant experience.

Oversees a group of administrative staff managing all aspects of theFacilities Services Department. Develops and oversees the budget,participates in personnel issues, coordinates construction and/ormaintenance issues in accordance with the University mission, goalsand objectives. Establishes goals and objectives of a specific skilled trade area.Duties will include training personnel on established procedures andpractices for completing specific tasks, job orders and maintenanceprojects. Completes data entry in the work order system forcompletion, equipment information, inventory controls, orderingparts, and worker assignments. Provides installation, repair andinterpretation based on blue prints and electronic controlschematics. High School diploma or GEDequivalency. Five years of experience in maintenance work with three years of experience as a supervisor or lead worker. Associate¿s degree or vocational school certification may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

Guide and ensure the management and supervision of police operations. Schedules, directs, and supervises the total patrol function by providing the personnel, training, equipment, and policy direction in order for police officers to perform their duties effectively. Manage the security functions of major University events. Reports to the Chief of Police. Designated officer in charge in Chief's absence.
Bachelor's degree in Police Science, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Public Administration or a related field and a minimum of five years of commissioned law enforcement work, including field supervisory experience. Certified or ability to be certified as a law enforcement officer by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center. No convictions of or diversions from any felony crimes, or any misdemeanor or felony crimes of domestic violence.   Special Qualifications: U.S. citizen; 21 years of age; valid driver's license; drug screen for new hires (certified positions); and annual firearms qualification (certified positions).

Responsible for conducting appraisal, acquisitions, arrangement, andmanagement of archival collections. Provides access, digitizing,conducting reference and outreach services that supports the physicaland intellectual control of primary source materials (in both physicaland electronic formats) of enduring value. Bachelor¿s degree with oneyear of archival or related experience. Some departments may require a Master's degree in Library Science or History with some archival coursework.
