Job Description and Minimum Qualifications:

Provides central office-level leadership, direction, and oversight for all sponsored awards proposed to and funded by federal, state, and private funds, including financial administration, adherence to federal, state and university compliance guidelines, and meeting submission and reporting requirements. Manages and monitors work activities of sponsored project staff, including oversight of Grant Officers, Grant Coordinators, and Grant Specialist. May oversee the budget development process and perform budget/financial analysis duties as delegated by the primary financial director. Ensures research integrity and compliance with rules and regulations as outlined by the grantor/agency. May oversee the timely submission and set up of awards. May oversee and participate in internal and external audits. Manages the preparation and timely submission of grant applications and/or the functions of financial administration and reporting including development and adjustment of associated budgets, coordination of budgeted funds, screening processing requests for expenditures, ensuring timely application of reimbursements and other metric reporting. Provides training, mentorship and coaching to Grant Officers, Grant Coordinators, and Grant Specialists. Serves as a principal mentor and liaison regarding grants, contracts, and sponsored project activity. Monitors and assesses process, policy, and procedures, and develops or improves as necessary. Interprets legislative and federal requirements. Supervises staff/students. Master’s and two years of related experience or a bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience or a high school diploma and 7 years of experience.
