Job Description and Minimum Qualifications:

Plan, organize, and provide administrative direction for comprehensive police, security, emergency communications, and emergency management services. Work under the guidance and direction of the Vice Provost of Administration and Finance. Provide expert professional assistance to University administrators. Foster cooperative working relationships with other community groups, including intergovernmental, regulatory, outside agencies, University departments, and student groups. Maintain a safe campus environment for students and faculty.Bachelor¿s degree in Police Science, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field and ten years of commissioned law enforcement work with a minimum of five years of supervisory experience. Certified or ability to be certified as a law enforcement officer by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.All required police and National Incident Management System (NIMS) training up-to-date. No convictions of or diversions from any felony crimes, or any misdemeanor or felony crimes of domestic violence.Special Qualifications: U.S. citizen; 21 years of age; valid driver¿s license; drug screen for new hires (certified positions); and annual fire arms qualification (certified positions).
