Graduate Teaching Assistants

Graduate teaching assistants (GTAs) are subject to the current GTAC (Graduate Teaching Assistant Coalition) Memorandum of Agreement, changes to which are still being negotiated. GTA appointments/salary should follow the current compensation system and will be subject to the terms of a final agreement if one is reached.  If the university and GTAC reach agreement on new compensation terms, those terms will take effect once GTAC and KU approve the Memorandum of Agreement and it is approved by KBOR (Kansas Board of Regents). Communication will follow once a new agreement is announced, which is not expected until after the KBOR meeting in September. Any pay adjustment for graduate teaching assistants is expected to be retroactive to the beginning of the academic year (8/18/22).
