New Learning Management System
KU’s Strategic plan, Bold Aspirations, stipulates in Goal 5 that “Developing Excellence in People” is key to the long term success of the University. At KU, people are our most valuable resource to educate leaders, build healthy communities, and make discoveries that change the world. Because we are all part of a people-intensive organization, developing our workforce is imperative. Central to KU’s commitment to that development is the implementation of a new talent development system.
One component of our new talent development framework is a Performance Management System that includes an intuitive performance appraisal tool for staff. University leaders will leverage the new performance management appraisal tool as they engage their staff in an on-going dialog about their performance. In addition to setting performance goals and providing support to meet these goals, supervisors and staff will identify areas for personal and professional growth.
In tandem with the performance system, the Learning Management System module will provide easy access to campus learning and development opportunities. The learning management system gives supervisors the right tool to promote the growth of their employees and for employees to identify professional growth opportunities.
In combination, the performance management and learning management systems of our new talent development system provide KU leaders a dynamic resource to engage and grow our workforce. The implementation schedule is as follows:
Learning Management System: Campus-wide access for faculty and staff beginning January 2015. Training will be available to all campus departments beginning in January 2015. Please contact HRM to schedule a training session at email@example.com.
Performance Management: Faculty and Staff in the Administration and Finance division will have access beginning January 2015. In January 2016, the system will begin implementation to faculty and staff campus-wide. HRM will be reaching out to individual departments to schedule training sessions.
